Weight Loss: Alan Richardson

Transformation Update: 22nd June 2022

This week, we celebrate the successful weight loss of Alan Richardson. Here’s his story:

A Conversation Between Tanya Walker & Alan Richardson

Today I met with Alan Richardson who was very happy to tell me about his journey so far since having bariatric surgery

It all started when Alan had an eye stroke in May 2021 and the Doctors said he needed to have surgery to lose weight to better his overall health and to also assist with his Osteo Arthritis. Alan weighed in at 162kg. I’ll also add that Alan was taking daily medications for high blood pressure, and high cholesterol and also struggled with sleep.

Once Alan returned home he knew it was time to make a change and began his research and discovered WLSA. Within 6 weeks Alan had his initial consultations with our Allied Health Professionals and booked in a surgery date with Dr Adib and had a bypass in the month of September 2021.

Eight months on Alan weighs 99kg, so down 61kg and is working with our team to reach his goal weight of 81kg which is half of his SW (starting weight).

He is no longer on blood pressure or high cholesterol medications and his sleep has improved dramatically.

When I asked Allan what his biggest achievements are so far he said “Having more energy!” Alan says he jumps on/off trucks all day everyday and can move with so much ease, not to mention is able to move a lot quicker than he used to.

“Buying and Fitting in clothes is much easier now too”

“So is this the best decision you’ve ever made?” I asked

“Second best decision after buying a boat!” he laughed.

Thanks so much, Alan, we look forward to following you as you continue your journey and know you will achieve your goals.
