Weight Loss: Megan Wharewera

This week, we celebrate the successful WeightLoss of Megan Wharewera.
Here’s her story:

It has been 1 year since my surgery. I remember when I made the decision to do this, I was so proud of myself for taking the first steps and finally doing something for ME! Not feeling guilty about the money or time off work. It’s been one CRAZY year full of highs & lows. And none of that had anything to do with my surgery and recovery! From the beautiful blessing of becoming a grandmother to moving back home to NZ, to then sadly losing  my mumma bear 5 weeks after moving back home.

Since my surgery I’ve lost 55kg. I’ve gone from a size 22/24 to a size 12/14 or 16! I can walk into any shop & know something will fit me. I can roll around on the floor & play with my granddaughter (and get back up!) I can tie my shoelaces without holding my breath. I can sit in any seat I choose! I can walk, run & skip my way through my days.

And the list could go on forever…Now I can walk with my head held high with confidence. I was proud of taking the first step 365 days ago…how I feel now is just so indescribable.

My mum was so proud of me & what I had achieved – she always said I was so brave taking control of my life.

When my mind & emotions settle down from this past year, I know I’ll get that last 10kg off!

All the best to anyone who is about to take control of their life! This page has the best motivation, tips & experts offering advice.

Below are photos 365 days apart.
And of course my little blessing, a granddaughter that kept me going!!!
